Cavalcastelle si aggiudica il campionato dopo la protesta su Gatto
Si è concluso ieri il campionato europeo Fun 2019 dopo due giornate di regate belle e ventose durante le quali gli equipaggi hanno disputato sette prove.
In acqua i partecipanti si sono sfidati con grande agonismo e non sono mancati i colpi di scena che sono proseguiti anche oltre il termine del campionato.
Dopo la prima giornata trovavamo questa classifica:
Dopo altre 4 prove, al termine della seconda giornata, il vincitore sembrava chiaro: Gatto timonata da Marco Pecorella con 5 primi posti e 2 secondi, ma il secondo classificato, Adriano Vitali, presentava al comitato una protesta per una possibile violazione delle regole di stazza su Gatto.
La protesta si basava sull’aggiunta non consentita in testa d’albero di una stecca sul paterazzo (il backstay flicker). Veniva quindi chiamato a verificare l’opportunità di questa aggiunta lo stazzatore che, regole di stazza alla mano, ha inquadrato questo elemento come una manovra fissa non consentita espressamente e quindi procedeva con la squalifica di Gatto da tutte le prove.
In conseguenza della squalifica la classifica definitiva diventava questa:
E quindi la coppa di questo campionato veniva assegnata a Adriano Vitali con la sua Cavalcastelle.
E’ già annunciato ricorso in FIV.

The Fun 2019 European Championship ended last Sunday after two days of beautiful and windy races during which the crews competed in seven races. In the water the participants challenged each other with great agonism and there were twists and turns that continued even after the end of the championship. After the first day we found this classification:
At the end of the second day the winner seemed clear: Gatto helmed by Marco Pecorella with 5 first places and 2 seconds, but the second classified, Adriano Vitali, presented to the committee a protest for a possible violation of the rules of tonnage on Gatto.
The protest was based on the unauthorized addition at the head of the tree of a stick (the backstay flicker). Was then called the tonnage judge to verify the appropriateness of this addition who, verifyng the rules of tonnage, classified this element as a fixed maneuver not expressly allowed and then proceeded with the disqualification of Gatto.
As a result of the disqualification the final ranking became this:
And then the cup of this championship was assigned to Adriano Vitali with his Cavalcastelle.
Gatto already announced that will appeal.
